He was found hiding in the wheel well of a car during a rainstorm—soaked, underweight, and with singed whiskers and fur from trying to keep warm. Despite everything he’d been through, Gordy didn’t hesitate to trust. The moment he was brought into a safe, warm home, his true personality shined through.<br/><br/>Gordy absolutely loves people. He’s the type of cat who greets newcomers with curiosity and charm—a true social butterfly. Playtime is one of his favorite things, and he enjoys energetic bursts of fun with toys, cat towers, and especially anything with feathers. When the play session ends, Gordy flips the switch straight into cuddle mode. He’s a world-class snuggler who will happily curl up on any part of you, with a special fondness for necks and bellies where he can soak up extra warmth. Once he’s settled in, he’s out cold—long, peaceful naps guaranteed.<br/><br/>One of the most special things about Gordy is his deep bond with his best friend, Blu. The two met in foster care and have been inseparable ever since. They can almost always be found cuddled up together, grooming each other, or playing side by side. When they get the zoomies, they race around the house in perfect sync—it’s pure joy to watch. Their bond is truly something special, and Gordy would love nothing more than to be adopted with Blu so they can continue their lives together.<br/><br/>Gordy is a lover through and through and has all the makings of a perfect lap cat. He’s been introduced to many other cats and dogs and, while a bit cautious at first, he warms up beautifully with time. He has a great appetite, uses his litter box like a pro, and is clearly enjoying the comforts of indoor life.<br/><br/>Sweet, resilient, affectionate, and endlessly charming — Gordy is truly PURRfect. Along with his best buddy Blu, he’s ready to bring the warmth, love, and cuddles to his forever home.<br/><br/>The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.<br/><br/>All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are fully vaccinated. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped. <br/><br/>We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
