Gordie- FIV+. Purr monster extraordinaire! Lap lover too. 's Story

Gordie the Gentle Giant -- FIV+

This big boy is a lap cat extraordinaire, and loves nothing more than to lay in your lap and purr contentedly. Gordie is very sweet, easy-going and relaxed, and is great with kids and dogs (not sure about other cats). Gordie is very playful and active, and needs a home that is active too. He loves climbing, and would love cat trees and running up stairs. He would prefer a home with several people in it so he can try out multiple laps for sleeping. Gordie will throw toys in the air so he can play with them! He has no problems using the litter box or designated scratching posts.

Despite being named by his foster family and only being with them a couple weeks he comes out of his lounging spot for pets whenever they call his name. Gordie delights in his twice daily wet food, and nibbles dry food throughout the day, without over-indulging. His foster family adores him and hopes to find him the perfect forever home so he doesn't become a "foster fail".

Gordon has FIV. Please read more about this here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951815. His adoption comes with a phone consult with a veterinarian to answer any questions you might have about FIV. He must be an indoor only cat with no exceptions, and can only go to a home with either no other cats or other FIV + cats. FIV cats can successfully and safely be adopted into homes with negative cats, but we do not know if Gordie likes other other cats. FIV is only spread thru bite wounds and blood contact with other cats.

Please head to our website to fill out a free application to learn more about this cat and to start the adoption process. Once your adoption application is approved we will contact you to set up a meeting. http://nwac-oregon.org/adoption-application/ Petfinder inquiries are not monitored on a regular basis.

The $140 adoption fee Includes spay/neuter, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines for their age, and a vet exam.

Northwest Animal Companions is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the pets in our care.
