Goofy Goober's Story

Goofy Goober is a handsome, 4-year-old boy with a heart of gold and LOTS of love to give! This adorable guy practically rescued himselfwhen rescuers set out to trap him in a South Jamaica cat colony, he was so friendly and eager for a meal that he waltzed right into the open trap without it even needing to be set.
Originally brought in as a TNR candidate, Goobers plans changed after his neuter surgery when he exhibited some erratic breathing. A vet visit revealed he has asthma. Knowing that outdoor environments would only trigger his condition, his rescuers knew this affectionate mush could never go back outside. Since coming indoors, his symptoms have been well-managed; he is using an inhaler to keep him feeling his best.
Don't let his asthma fool you - Goober is an inquisitive, energetic, and perfectly playful happy boy! He absolutely loves to explore, play, and give enthusiastic headbutts. He is incredibly food-motivated (he'll do just about anything for a treat) and loves cuddles completely on his own terms.

Goofy Goober is FIV+ and does not seem to get along with other cats, so he would do best as the only pet in a single-cat home where he can get all the attention and interaction he deserves.
