Goldie ( bonded with Merlin) 's Story
Goldie (mom)

Goldie is an approximately 11 month old orange tabby. It is VERY rare to find an orange female, and this is just one of the things that makes Goldie special. She is incredibly intelligent and was able to relocate all of her kittens when a neighbor was trying to harm them. She was reportedly very friendly with other adult cats in the colony and was even seen walking around with her tail entwined with other cats. She even had the insight to walk up to a woman’s front door in the middle of winter to ask for food, despite likely never having been a domestic pet. She is curious about toys but doesn’t seem to know how to play - probably because she was more focused on surviving and keeping her babies safe.

Goldie would do best with an owner who is willing to work at her pace and understands the behavior of a street cat to support her transition to domestic life. She has never been aggressive at the vet or to any of the humans currently taking care of her, but she can be nervous and likes to spend time in her hiding spots, but will also be right at the bedroom door in the morning eager to say hello. She enjoys head scratches and brushing once she gets to know you. She has been neutral towards both of the big dogs in the house and doesn’t seem phased when they bark.

She and Merlin spend a lot of time together and would thrive in a home together.

#orangecatenergy

Their foster mom is Kirsten.
