Gloria Swanson - seeking sponsors's Story
Gloria Swanson (formerly Doggie!) was an owner surrender to the Orange County Shelter in CA. Why was such a gorgeous cat surreneder...well that's a very good question as the reasons the owners gave when they dumped don't match up to how she's been with our foster. They said she's sassy, aggressive, tries to bite, scratch and hisses. Wow! NONE of those boxes are checked off by our foster. She doesn't eat her prescription food-again the foster has been able to get her to eat RX food. So, we are puzzled.

Just look at this gorgeous girl, would you think she's going to be NINETEEN years old in June 2022?? !!! We can't believe it either.

Why is she listed as special needs and why does she need sponsors? Gloria Swanson has kidney disease, fortunately it's early stage so we are controlling it with RX food. And regular bloodwork at the vet. For a small girl she can eat a lot! She's been eating three to four small cans daily. So why don't we buy the bigger cans? Good question. The K/D formula variety she'll eat is only available in small cans. Just her food alone is an approx cost of $200 per month. She would need an adopter who can afford to buy her Rx food. She'll also need regular check ups, maybe blood work every 6 months. If you can donate towards her food we'd be grateful. There is a donation button on this page and we do have a donate button on our facebook page and we can take paypal: thefaunafoundation@gmail.com

Since Gloria Swanson has been with a foster she's become more confident, has gained a little weight and has proven to be a very friendly loving kitty who likes to boss people around using her indoor voice! Zero hissing, growling or swiping! She has a lot of confidence <3

Ideally we'd like get her into a forever home. Her adopter would need to be someone who has time to engage with her. She loves to watch TV, especially old movies with her heroes William Holden and Humphrey Bogart! She loves to be pampered, brushed. And needs to hear words of endearment...she is a diva afterall. The adopter would need to be able to afford her prescription cat food. We feel she's a very YOUNG 19 year old and given her overall condition we think she'd have 3 or more years of quality life. Of course we can't predict her lifespan.

Gloria Swanson is seeking a forever home...can you cast her as your next companion?
