Gizzy's Story

Gizzy Bittles is a handsome fellow, estimated to be around 6 years old. He was rescued from an overcrowding situation. He was in need of dental work and has had a few teeth removed. He has a scar on his left eye and it does not seem to hamper him but sometimes it may cause him to be startled at a sudden movement. <br/><br/>He enjoys being petted and scratched and is playful but Gizzy does NOT like to be picked up. He is not bothered by nice dogs and gets along with other cats. If you are interested in a cat who enjoys some attention but wants his space, Gizzy may be the one for you. <br/><br/>Gizzy 's adoption fee is $50. South Plains SPCA's Adoption Policy

The South Plains SPCA believes that adopting an animal is a forever decision that should not be taken lightly. We expect our adopters to be committed to loving our animals for the rest of their lives. Adoption events are held every Saturday at 8901 Highway 87, Building 119, Lubbock, TX. Dog adoptions take place from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and cat adoptions are 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. While not all of our animals come every weekend, our volunteers will be more than happy to talk to you about the animals you are interested in. You can also send an e-mail to adoptions.spspca@gmail.com regarding any of our animals that you are interested in making a forever member of your family. Meetings can be arranged outside of our Saturday adoption event, usually on Monday evenings for dogs and Wednesday evenings for cats. We have an adoption application that must be filled our. The adoption fee varies and is dependent on whether the pet is a dog or cat and age of the pet. The adoption fee covers the dog/cat being spayed or neutered, current vaccinations, heartworm/tick screening, and microchipped. Indoor homes are preferred.
