Giles's Story

Umm, hello there. My name is Giles. I hope we can meet each other sometime. You know that character from Winnie-the-Pooh named Piglet? I'm a little like him! I mean, I don't LOOK like him. I'm a gorgeous (if I do say so myself) 4-year old boy with long, silky black fur. No, I think I'm like Piglet because I'm super sweet, I have a big heart and I really, really WANT to be brave. And sometimes I am! But sometimes a strange noise sends me flying under a blanket. I'm working on it. When I'm with a patient and kind human I want nothing more than to take treats from their hand and jump into their lap! That's the best. I love it when I have the courage to do that. Maybe you could help me out? I had a home once, and everyone hoped it would be my forever home. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a little too busy and my nerves just got the better of me. They really tried! Such nice people. But it just wasn't the right fit.

Well, I know there's someone out there who's meant to be my person. I think we'll find each other eventually. When we do, we'll play with feather toys and eat treats, and I'll jump in their lap to boop their nose! It'll be great! Until then, I'll keep practicing my bravery and saving a spot in my heart for the person who's meant to share it. Love, Giles.

Giles has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. Please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt and an adoption counselor will contact you to set up a meet and greet. The $100 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. Adopt: How To Adopt Thank you for considering adoption of a homeless companion animal from Cat Rescue & Adoption Network. Our goal is to help you find a cat that suits your household, lifestyle and personality. You should begin by viewing our available homeless companions on this website. All of our cats are located either in one of our adoption centers or a foster home. If you are in the neighborhood, you are more than welcome to drop by one of our adoption centers to view available animals. Our adoption centers are located in both PetSmart stores, and Wags! Dog Emporium. Feel free to call us at 541-225-4955 (option 1 for cats) and leave us your contact information and which specific companion animal or general animal type you are interested in and we’ll arrange to have you meet your potential new friend. The adoption fee includes: - Spay or neuter - Microchip - Cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS FVRCP (upper respiratory/distemper) vaccine - Rabies vaccine - Checked and treated for ear mites if necessary - Free initial vet exam visit (with participating veterinary clinics) CRAN provides superb care for the animals in our shelters and foster homes and makes a reasonable effort to provide healthy companion animals to adopters, but nevertheless, CRAN cannot be responsible for veterinary bills or treatment of an animal after leaving our shelter. If they have not been adopted together after a lengthy period of time, they may be allowed to be adopted separately.
