Gigi and Buddy's Story

Gigi (tortoiseshell) and Buddy (tabby) are a bonded pair of friendly kitties. Gigi was purring and making biscuits minutes after coming into our care. Buddy was a longtime stray in the courtyard of a housing complex. He lived outdoors with Gigi, who had been dumped outside by her owner a few years ago. Several residents fed both cats but did not allow them indoors. We are so glad that a caring person rescued them and saved them from frostbite or worse. They seem to understand they are safe and warm now. They are approximately eight to ten years old and are such lovely cats.

During their vet appointment, we found out that Buddy is FIV+. We are looking for a home with either no other cats or other FIV-positive cats for this adorable pair. Many cats live long and healthy lives with FIV as long as they are kept indoors, fed a healthy diet, and are seen regularly by a veterinarian. We would be happy to chat more about what this means for Buddy.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application at https://www.medfieldshelter.com/adoption-forms/cat.

If you are ready to adopt, please fill out an adoption application. We offer same-day adoptions, so if the cat is a fit, you can take them home the day of your meeting.

If a cat is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption, but applications may have been received before yours.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only. The adoption fee for cats seven months to two years old is $250 for one cat and $350 for a pair; for cats three years to ten years old, it is $200 for one cat and $300 for a pair; and for senior cats 11 years and over, it is $125. The fee includes age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchip testing, testing for FeLV and FIV, and spaying/ neutering.
