Gigi's Story

Meet Gigi, a 6-year-old black DSH beauty with a mysterious, enchanting look and a surprisingly sweet, gentle personality. She came to ACS when her previous family faced financial hardships, and now she’s patiently waiting for a new home where she can feel safe, loved, and understood. While she may be timid at first, there’s a soft, warm spirit underneath just waiting for the right person to bring it out.

Gigi is wonderfully cat-friendly and previously lived with another kitty she absolutely adored. They played together often, and she thrived having a feline friend by her side. Here in our busier cat rooms she can get a bit overstimulated, but in a home with one or two calm, respectful cats, she would settle in beautifully. We haven’t tested her with dogs yet, but we believe she may do well with a gentle, low-energy senior dog who isn’t interested in chasing or rough play.

Because she prefers a more peaceful environment, Gigi is looking for a home without young children. The toddler in her previous home overwhelmed her and caused her to hide, so she would be happiest with adults or older kids who understand her boundaries. Once she feels comfortable, she truly blossoms—showing her playful side with wand toys and enjoying the company of other cats she trusts.

Gigi also has some adorable quirks that make her extra charming. She loves to perch up high, whether that’s on a cat tree, shelf, or the back of the couch, and she enjoys a bit of bird-watching from the safety of a window. She doesn’t have any desire to explore outdoors, preferring indoor comfort with just a peek at the world outside.

But Gigi’s best trait of all reveals itself once she bonds with her people—she becomes a complete lap cat. She’ll snuggle right into your side, make herself comfortable, and nudge you sweetly for neck scratches. Her affection is gentle, soft, and incredibly rewarding. Gigi will go home spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, ready to start her next chapter. If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and quietly affectionate companion with a touch of mystery, Gigi is the perfect match. Come meet her—you might just find your new best friend. ????

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
