Gigantor's Story

Meet Gigantor, an outgoing, statuesque giant:

Gigantor has been on quite a journey. He was declawed on all four paws, and somehow ended up outside for at least 2 years. Luckily, he found his way to people who fed him (no one knew he was declawed yet). Gigantor got a cut on his face that became infected; his face swelled up so much that one of his eyes was no longer visible. At the animal hospital, it was discovered that he didn't have any claws at all! His face is now fully healed, but he currently looks a bit lopsided while waiting for his hair and whiskers to grow back; some had to be shaved for treatment. He will look even more majestic in no time! Gigantor would love to just get cozy at your house after this long ordeal.

It seems like he really missed being pet by humans because he loves to rub up against corners, walls or anything available to pet himself! He loves being pet, but is currently most comfortable when he comes to you (possibly due to his recently having had this injury- he may feel extra sensitive, sometimes being pet startles him). He will slowly turn away and face a wall when he's had enough socializing (we wish we could be that direct in social situations!). He likes to lay next to people and rest his head on them, even people he has just met. He's okay with being picked up.

He's not overly interested in food, but will need a little coaxing and a comfortable surface to help him stay active and keep his weight stable. He's good at using the litter box. It's been estimated that he is about 8. He might be one of the biggest cats (by height and length) that you'll ever meet.

Gigantor has been a bit scared of meeting the resident cats in his current foster home, but he is becoming more curious about them and may do well with friendly or uninterested cats with a gradual introduction. Like many cats who have been declawed (and had their first instinctive line of defense taken away from them), he will sometimes "bite the air" as a warning to show when he is not comfortable. He will not be a good fit for a home with small children. We do not know how he feels about dogs. His name is new, so he would also be happy to go by whatever name you'd prefer.

Likes: meeting new people, head butts, cheek scratches, soft rugs or towels, cat beds, catit creamy treats
Dislikes: jumping, slippery floors

Gigantor is fixed, FIV & FELV negative, and all vaccinations and flea treatments are up to date.
Apply at linktr.ee/kittiesofnepa
