Gibson's Story

Gibson is an empathic snuggle-bear! He is a rare sort of soul who cares so much about how others feel, that he could easily become one of the most important "people" in your life. This sweet boy loves absolutely everyone. He will look into your eyes like he knows exactly what kind of day you've had. He will come to you when you call him, he will lay on your chest, shower you with kisses, and he will sleep at your feet or even under your covers with you if you want. He just wants to be with his human, so much so that he will follow you around the house like pups do!

Gibson was rescued as a stray in the below freezing Winter Storm of February 2021. He had a family at one time because he is front declawed but tragically he was not microchipped. After searching for many weeks for his family, sadly nobody ever reported him missing to the Collin County shelter so he needs a forever home.

Tragically, while Gibson was a stray on the lonely streets for that very short time, he contracted Feline Leukemia (FeLV) from another infected kitty. He is not currently sick or symptomatic and he is newly diagnosed. Cats with FeLV can live normal lives for prolonged periods of time. Gibson will have to be the only kitty in the home or he may live among other FeLV cats, and Gibson must live indoors only. If you can give him that, then you can give him a miracle. Gibson will do best in a home without small children or dogs.

To meet Gibson, please complete our adoption application at https://muttsandmayhem.org/adoption-application.htm and send it to info@muttsandmayhem.org

For more information about feline leukemia please visit this link, https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934
