Gertrude's Story

Gertrude is as beautiful as she is mischievous. Now that this young mom's kittens are gone she is very energetic and learning to be a kitten again herself. She frequently gets zoomies and is always open to play time. Catnip is a big favourite. Gertrude gets along well with other cats, and has been exposed to dogs and would do fine in a home with a friendly dog.

Gertrude is trouble with a capital T. She is very smart has never seen food she didn't want to steal. Gertie has jumped into the fridge to investigate chicken, ripped open bread as her fosters were carrying in the rest of the groceries, eaten an avocado and tomatoes off the counter, energetically explores the green bin if she can access it, and has even been spotted dragging a whole bag of baby spinach down the hall. She makes quick work of ripping open chip bags if they are left where she can reach them. She is hilarious and will keep you on your toes but she is definitely a whole lot of cat!

Gertie is definitely not the cat for just anyone, she needs a home with a family who is good at staying a step ahead of her, and delights in cats who are full of personality. Gertie should not be free fed, it is best to keep her on a feeding schedule because otherwise she would eat everything you gave her all at once.

Gertie is incredibly sweet. She loves to be pet and when she sees attention being doled out she will come and join in. She is quite comfortable being picked up and carried around and she even begrudgingly accepts all the head kisses her foster gives her.

If you are looking for a little excitement in your life and your very own feline comedian, Gertie might be the girl for you.

Gertrude is negative for FIV and FeLV. Like all ACR cats, she is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
