Geppetto's Story

Geppetto was being cared for as a community cat for several years, meaning he lived outside. He was finally rescued and brought in to the rescue and we realized he was a sweet tame cat that just wanted to live inside a loving home, off the streets. Geppetto has Stomatitis, a condition that causes inflammation in the mouth that can be very painful. He had all his teeth removed, which should help significantly. He is currently being treated with a medication (Atopica) to help with this condition and we are hoping for greater improvement as time goes on.

Geppetto is becoming more social as time goes on and enjoys being rubbed and loved on. He is not the energetic type, he seems more content watching everyone else. Geppetto is FIV+ which means his immune system is not as strong and could be the reason the stomatitis is taking longer to heal than expected. FIV+ cats can still live long and healthy lives with proper care, including prompt treatment of secondary infections and regular veterinary check-ups.
foster: chcl

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

$300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.
