George's Story

Hi… my name is George.
I’ve been told I’m quite the looker… dark orange and white tabby, striking features, and a face that turns heads. But I didn’t always feel so confident.

I came here feral… scared of everything, unsure of people, and not ready to trust. It took a long time for me to realize that hands could be kind, that voices could be gentle, and that love was something meant for me too. The humans here were patient… they gave me space, lots of food (very important), and time. Eventually… I started to believe in them.

I’m still a little shy at first. When I go to my new home, I’ll probably hide and take some time to adjust. I just need someone who understands that trust isn’t instant for me… it’s something we build together. Give me patience, love, and snacks, and I promise I’ll come around.

Because once I do… oh, I do. I’ve got a soft spot for head scratches and gentle lovin’. I enjoy lounging on cozy blankets, and sometimes you’ll catch me proudly sitting on top of my treats like they’re my prized possessions. I like to play every now and then… especially if catnip is involved… and nothing beats a warm sunny spot to nap in.

Oh… and I should mention… I’m what they call a toothless wonder. I had all my teeth removed, but don’t let that fool you. I eat like a champ and still get very excited about treats and mealtime!

Being held isn’t really my thing right now… but who knows? With time, I might change my mind. I’ve already come so far.

One thing I know for sure… I love other cats. They make me feel safe and help me come out of my shell, so I’d do best in a home with feline friends to show me the ropes.

If you think you might be the patient, loving home I’ve been waiting for… you can come meet me daily from 1–5pm. I’ll be the handsome one watching you… maybe a little shy… but hoping you’re the one who sees me for who I truly am.

My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat.

I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations: distemper, rabies, and FeLV. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.

If you are interested in adopting George, please come visit… we are open daily from 1-5pm (including holidays)… we need to meet you in person! If you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@furballcats.com or message us on Facebook: Furball Farm Cat Sanctuary.
