Gandalf's Story
Best Match:

Seeking an adopter with moderate cat experience

May be OK with savvy teens and other cats

Needs to be indoor only

Receives daily medication and a special diet to stay happy and healthy

At almost 14 years old, Gandalf is a confident cat with an affectionate disposition. This mellow tabby is friendly with new people and quick to seek out laps, quiet company, or a cozy spot nearby. His foster calls him the perfect binge-watching and book-reading buddy.

Gandalf enjoys some playtime, but can usually be found napping in the sun or living out his dream as a devoted lap cat. Giving him gentle nose rubs may earn you a kiss in return! While he adored cuddles, he’ll do well with an experienced adopter who can read his body language and acknowledge his need for personal space; doing so is richly rewarded with trust and snuggles.

This dapper gentleman is positive for FIV, so will need to stay indoors for his own health, and has allergies that are easily managed with a rabbit-only diet and daily medication that he happily eats mixed into his food. He might do well with another calm cat in the home.

Gandalf is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, FIV-positive, and FeLV-negative. He’s looking for a hero — a patient, cat-experienced person who’ll go slow and love him for exactly who he is. The virus can't be given to humans, and doesn’t spread easily between cats, so they can safely live with FIV-negative cats. We often house them together at Cat Town! With simple care, FIV-positive cats thrive. Keeping them indoors, feeding a balanced diet, and scheduling regular vet checkups (about every six months) helps them stay happy and healthy for years to come.
