Gabe (bonded with Blade)'s Story
Say hello to Blade and Gabriel! These boys are some of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet. They are almost seven years old so they know about and appreciate the finer things in life while still enjoying a good play time. They aren't going to get into every little thing like kittens are prone to.

They have experience hanging out in a screened in porch and out on walks in harnesses, which are both great enrichment activities for cats. They are both pretty laid back and enjoy meeting new people. They are always up for attention and affection, giving head bonks and seeking to be pet. Once they are really used to their people, they are incredibly affectionate. (Blade loves sniffing my face and ears while I scoop their litter box and I've even gotten little kisses a few times!)

New situations can be a little challenging but they settle in pretty quickly. Food is one of their favorite things and they love all kinds of treats, from crunchy ones to churus. They scarf them up so fast, they barely even notice when a pill is added! Food and treat times are one of the times you'll hear their voices and it's adorable! Both boys will give you the littlest, most gentle and unobtrusive meows that don't sound like they should match those big fluffy bodies. Catnip is also a favorite and they both love to roll around in it. If it's on or in a toy, they will pull it up to their face and intensely rub all over it, it's so cute!

Both boys are on a specific diet for a chronic medical condition that will need to continue to ensure their optimal health. While Blade is the only one who has had the issue so far, since Gabe is a litter mate, he is on the same diet to help him avoid developing it.

Blade and Gabe are litter mates, brothers and have been together for their entire lives. They are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together. They have lived with cat-savvy dogs with no issues and have been around other cats and did fine with proper introductions. Young children are a challenge and the boys aren't the most comfortable with them so their ideal home is full of people who are respectful of their preferences and know how to appropriately interact with cats in a calm manner.

Learn more about the boys and how to adopt them on their page on our website: https://velvetacres.org/bladeandgabe/
