Frida's Story
Meet Frida!

Frida's journey has been an incredible transformation. After arriving at the Monterey SPCA extremely shut down and fearful, she was placed into a dedicated AFRP foster home where, with time and patience, she slowly learned to trust and feel safe. Today, Frida has blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and wonderfully entertaining cat.

Naturally shy, Frida needs time to settle in and may retreat to her safe space when overwhelmed by new people or sudden movements. But once comfortable, her personality shines. She loves batting toys across the house, pouncing dramatically, carrying them around in her mouth, and bird-watching from her cat tree like a tiny supervisor.

Frida has also become very affectionate in her own gentle way, frequently rubbing against her people for pets before heading off for her next activity. Like many calicos, she has clear boundaries and thrives with adopters who respect them.

Frida is looking for a calm, patient home without small children. Neutral cats may be okay with slow introductions, and dogs are unknown. Watching Frida continue to come out of her shell is an incredibly rewarding experience.

Interested in Frida?
