Freyja's Story

Freya is a 4 month old kitten who needs to find a home with another playful kitten or young cat. She takes a little while to warm up to new people, but once she loves you, she LOVES you. Here’s what her foster volunteer says about her:

How would you describe the cat's general personality? Freya is super cute and weirdly chill for a kitten! She is still a bit skittish when it comes to interaction with us, but is very sweet and never aggressive. She just recently started laying in my lap, and she never forgets to ask for breakfast! She's a funny girl who gets embarrassed when she's a little too goofy.

Does the cat enjoy being pet? She sometimes jumps and winces when she is initially touched, but I think that's she is mostly just a bit anxious. Once you pet her and she realizes it's safe, she loves it. She has recently become very, very affectionate!!

If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Her belly, and around the back of the head or neck area. She loves having her tiny fluffy ears rubbed.

Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? Not so far as we have noticed.

Does the cat come on your lap? Yes, she has, a lot lately actually. She seems to want to be a nap-lap-cat.

Does the cat like to be held? She generally does and is the easiest kitten of her litter to handle. She's submissive and sweet, and lets you wrangle her as needed.

Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, she has not had the opportunity to do so overnight, but she does nap on the bed often.

Does the cat seek your attention? As of lately, yes! She's started to screeeam for pets and snuggles, and of course FOOD!! She’s very vocal when she wants something hahaha.

Does the cat like to play? She usually prefers to chill out but she finds some spurts of kitten energy and enjoys wrestling with her brother Thor quite a bit.

What are the cat's favorite games and toys? She doesn't really seem to play with a lot of toys, she likes catnip some, but mostly she likes to lounge around in *every possible new spot* though. She loves finding new nap areas.

How vocal is the cat? She doesn't meow much, but she's very shrill, especially when she wants food. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She’s sooo squeaky and high pitched! Its the cutest little princess-y mew.

Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes she loves scratchers! She actually un-did a scratching post on one of her fabric cat towers lol.

Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, we believe she is the most reliable on using it out of the three kittens.

What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? She has a great appetite, honestly she'll eat anything, about 3-5 cans a day with free dry food. She was picky for a few weeks at first regarding wet food, but now I think she is just a hungry, hungry, growing girl who doesn't care much about what she's getting fed.

Is the cat picky about food? Doesn't ever seem to be anymore. She really loves her wet food!

What is the cat's favorite treat? Churus!! She goes nuts for Churu.

Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No, never outside of regular playing.

Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No absolutely not.

Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No

Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? Nope!

To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? She is generally shy but warms up quickly, and has recently become quite friendly. She’s started to like being a lap kitty, and enjoys just sitting with me on my bed watching TV a lot :)

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Freyja is a very low-key, calm, sweet little floofy kitten who would be perfect for someone who needs a kitten that won't be zooming all over the place. I think she would love to have a new friend, but she will be soooo devoted to her human person, I guarantee.

What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? Again, she can be a bit skittish, but she has began to open up more and more, and even seeks out attention now! She's truly a special, lovely little girl (with the funniest ear floofs, and a gorgeous tail!)
