Freya's Story

Freya is part of a litter of stray cats that were so loving and friendly that they climbed a tree to drop into a yard where some people were hanging out! Luckily these people gave them food, water and temporary outdoor shelter and plenty of pets! The kittens were smart and so desperate to get inside they were tearing up window screens and scratching at the door. The residents were unable to take the kittens in so they reached out to a friend who took them in and is fostering them. This really demonstrates how loving and friendly these kittens are!
Miss Freya is the smallest and will likely stay on the smaller side. She is named after the Norse goddess because of her fierce determination when playing! She absolutely loves playing and will play by herself with the same toy for hours. Her second favorite thing is to curl up on or next to her human. She is also very partial to a blanket or soft bed!
Since she started her life on the streets, and she is very smart, she does have some hesitation and caution when around new people. It doesn't take long for her to assess the situation and figure out it's safe and then she is back to her friendly, outgoing self. Freya also talks to you, especially about important things like food and attention. She trades her chatter for extremely loud purrs when you give her attention or food though!
She has been very quick to learn and can be told to get down and knows what no means.
If you want an adorable, smart, super playful yet also very cuddly kitten then you have to meet Freya!
Freya would do best adopted with her brother Eros or another young playful kitten!
Come play with Freya and experience her amazing purrs as she is curled up on your lap, you won't regret it! Familiar Hearts Animal Society's Adoption Policy
We always have potential adopters fill out our adoption application first so we can first vet them and make sure we approve of them as adopters before then inviting them to meet the animal(s) they are interested in. We feel this not only saves time for our fosters, it helps us get to know the applicant better and better be able to match them with the potential pet that is best for them. We always make sure everyone has a lot of time to deeply consider the adoption before finalizing it. The adoption is considered finalized after the adoption contract is reviewed and signed and the fee is paid. We then tranfer all the vet records and microchip information to the new family. We also offer behavioral support before and after adoption and one free training session with our dog trainer for dog adopters.
