Freddie's Story

Meet Freddie, a spayed female born approximately July 20, 2025. Freddie is a charcoal black female with 1 adorable white whisker. She is approximately 5 months old.

She was born as a stray and has spent the past 2 months in foster care learning how to be a house cat. She’s made tremendous progress, but is not an “instant lap cat.” What she needs is an adopter who understands cat behavior, can read body language, and is willing to let trust build on her terms. She is play-oriented and quite willing to lick Churu off your fingers, but isn’t ready to let you pet her.

She thinks laser-pointer and bird-wand play are just the absolute best.
Freddie is on the cusp of coming out of her shell. She goes bonkers over laser-pointers and will move about the room while you’re there, especially when wet food is being put down, but doesn’t want to be touched yet. Quite a fan of Churu and will put two-paws on your knee to get some if you’re sitting on the floor.

At meet-and-greets, Freddie won’t present as “sweet” or cuddly right away. She needs an adopter who can see past first impressions, respect her pace, and let her blossom over time.

She’s been fostered in a home with, but physically separated from, two resident cats, so she is not familiar with other animals aside from her 4 siblings.

What Freddie is looking for in a home:

- She needs an already established resident feline friend close to her age to play with and model good cat manners.
- She’s new to indoor life with humans, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help her continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers can make her nervous.
- She can get nervous, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help her feel comfortable with new experiences.
- She’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- She has a fair amount of energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.
- She feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- She needs to live indoors only.
- She prefers an adult-only home.
- She has no known history with dogs.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in adopting Freddie! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt her by filling out this questionnaire: https://bit.ly/ACPAdoptionForm

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered.
