Freddie 2's Story

Introducing Freddie 2!

Want a dog but can't have one? Freddie is exactly who you're looking for! Somehow Fred was put in a cat body by mistake, but we think he's really a dog in disguise.

Freddie is a big, muscular fellow, about 2 years old, with a beautiful ginger coat. Being social and friendly, he loves meeting new people. Fred follows his foster mom everywhere, and even comes when she calls. Freddie believes his life's purpose is to provide supervision of all human tasks, regardless of the noise level. Vacuuming or using power tools? No problem! Freddie is on the job!

Freddie had a tough time at first after he was rescued. He was head shy and prone to swat when anxious. But patience and time taught Freddie that he is safe, secure, and loved. Now he loves being petted and getting cheek scritches, but not for too long or over the top. Going slower at first is a sure way to win Freddie’s trust!

Fred is learning how to play and is a complete sucker for catnip. In fact, this silly boy will find the catnip stash and chew open the container.

He still can be a little too curious about the outdoors, especially when he wants to follow you. So Freddie needs a home where people are careful about unsecured windows and limit his access to doors.

Freddie is a large, strong boy, with a lot of personality. He needs a family with some experience having cats. If you ignore Freddie at first, and let him set the pace for your new relationship, he will come around more quickly. Freddie doesn’t like being fawned over, but he definitely wants to be your best buddy.

Fred is very laid back and submissive with other cats. He will do well as an only cat, or with cats that aren't too energetic or intrusive. We don’t know how he will do with dogs. Fred will do best in a home with just adults.

Freddie is a handsome fellow with lots of personality. He is learning that life with a loving family is pretty darn cool, and he can’t wait to meet you!

If you are interested in adopting this lovable hunk, please send in an application from our website:

https://www.orangestreetcats.org/adopt.html

or email us at:

osc@orangestreetcats.org

Note: Orange Street Cats is currently following a foster-to-adopt model in place of an in-person meeting prior to adoption. You will provide a foster home to the cat you are interested in adopting for a trial period. This gives you and your family an opportunity to be sure this is a good fit before you make the commitment to adopt. Our adoption team is available during and after the transition period to make sure our adopters and our cats are happy together!
