Florence's Story

Flo is a little over 5 years old. She is such a sweet, docile girl. She was the only pet in her former home for 4 years, until her mom and dad had a human baby. Flo did not handle the changes with the new family member very well. We suspect the introduction of the new baby was not a positive experience for Flo. This caused significant anxiety for her. Her former parents chose to lock her up in their mud room. She had never seen a vet while in their care. She had never left the home for any reason. When we took her in, she completely shut down. It took time and patience to earn her trust and help her. She has seen the vet, is up to date on vaccines, blood work all normal. Overall she is a very healthy girl with some anxiety issues due to her world being turned upside down. She is on fluoxetine daily and gabapentin when she need to take her out in a carrier. And for vet visits. Vet is hopeful once she finds her forever home, it is possible she can be weaned off fluoxetine. And with continued positive experience with the carrier, hopefully someday she won’t need to be medicated for travel. Flo is in a foster home with other cats and dogs. After slow and proper introduction, she truly enjoys being with other cats. Dogs are ok, she will ignore them if they simply ignore her. She loves to brushed. Enjoys petting once she feels safe with you. She loves to play! Loves the laser light and also any wand toy. She loves to with you! Her adoption fee is $100. She is spayed and microchipped also.

To adopt Flo go to www.furangelsas.com and fill out an application. 4/16/26 9:58 PM
