Fiona's Story

Fiona and her 3 littermates were found at a feral cat colony when they were just weeks old. They were too young to be returned to the site, so they were temp fostered until they could come to Heartland. Fiona is a shy and timid little soul, but she's very docile and sweet. She's just not very confident and her first reaction to people has been to run away, but she's getting much better at that and is learning that humans are good and not something to fear. We started her on generic Prozac several months ago as her anxiety was manifesting in inappropriate urination, and that has made a world of difference. She hasn't had an accident in months and it has really helped her feel more at ease and less anxious. The meds are very cheap and she takes them in her food, so othey are easy to administer.Over the past year, she has come out of her shell quite a bit and is much more interactive and engaging with people now. She enjoys playing with toys and hanging out with her kitty friends. Fiona LOVES canned food and it's definitely the way to her heart. She really wants to be brave and seek affection, but she just needs time and patience to do so on her terms and time. She adores other kitties so being in a home with a confident, friendly cat would be ideal to help her feel more comfortable and at ease. She may do fine with a cat-friendly, calm dog but no kids. Fiona is spayed, chipped, recently had a dental, negative for FeLV/FIV and current on vaccinations - DOB 4/15/22 (tag 13181JB).
