FIONA's Story

FIONA is a lovely CHOCOLATE POINT BIRMAN with blue eyes. She is 5 years old, spayed, has her claws, is up to date on vaccinations, and FIV/FeLV negative. She weighs around 8 lbs.

Fiona's family was very sad that they had to give up this precious little cat but unfortunately their other female cat decided that she didn’t like having Fiona as a housemate and became quite aggressive towards her. Separating them was the only way to restore peace and tranquility in the home.

Fiona’s foster mom is very taken with this little doll. Fiona possesses the typical Birman cat personality of being gentle, affectionate and people-oriented. When the foster mom stops in to check on her, Fiona likes to roll on her side to expose her tummy and enjoys many moments of soft belly rubs. Birmans are generally soft-spoken, communicating with soft chirps rather than loud meows, though they can become chatty if encouraged, which pretty much describes Fiona.

Her new family should expect that Fiona will initially be a bit reserved and will take a few days to adjust to her new surroundings. She is currently not a super active girl, but does enjoy pouncing on the mink wand toy when her foster mom swirls it around for her to catch. Since interactive play time is important for kitties, Fiona’s foster mom encourages her new family to engage her in some wand toy plays a couple of times a day. Her foster mom is particularly smitten with the way this adorable girl prances through the house. She is a delight to watch and to have around.

Fiona would benefit from a home where people are around, not where someone is gone for most of the day. She is currently rooming with a gentle, non-dominant male Siamese who leaves her alone, so a gentle male of similar age and breed might work for her, but she would also thrive as an only kitty. Since her foster home doesn’t have any dogs, we don’t know how she would feel about a dog buddy, but assume a gentle dog who is known to love his kitty companions should be fine. Children who are cat savvy and not too rambunctious will be fine for her as well.

She eats both wet and dry food, has been fully vetted and is using her litter box appropriately.

To apply for this pretty kitty, please fill out an adoption application on our website:

https://purebredcatrescue.org/adoption-application-form/

ADOPTION FEE $300.
