FIG NEWTON's Story

AGE: 3- 4 years

DESCRIPTION: DSH - Gray Tabby & White

LOCATION: Foster Home

MY STORE:
Fig Newton and her two sisters were originally found a couple of years ago when they were just a few days old covered in fleas and with no mama. They were bottle fed in a foster home with lots of love and adopted quickly as young kittens. Figgy's adopter contacted us a few months ago saying that she was not happy in the home any longer. It seems the young child in the home was causing her to have an on-going urinary tract infections (UTI).

Figgy is a beautiful full figured gal that definitely knows what she likes and doesn't like and is not shy about communicating it in no uncertain terms. She does not like children, is not too fond of other kitties (although she is tolerant of them if they respect her space), prefers not to be held, and limits the amount of petting to 10 seconds or less. If you don't abide by her "rules" she's not shy about lashing out with a good paw swipe which sometimes even includes claws. Now that we've got all the negatives out of the way, now we'll share her positives. If you have a quieter home an are looking for an independent furry friend that likes to be in the same room but not all up in your face, on your lap, and in your stuff, she is purrfect! Figgy loves to toss little catnip toys and chase the laser light and has been known to play fetch with wadded up balls of tape. She will take some patience to settle in to a new home and the best approach is to just leave her alone during the assimilation. You will know when you have earned her trust when she rubs up against your legs to give you the signal. Figgy does need to eat a prescription urinary food which can be purchased from a vet or ordered through a mail order service since she had been prone to UTIs.

MORE DETAILS:
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $25. Adopt a pair of kitties for $50. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.

We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt"
and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty.

P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
