Fern's Story

Meet Fern — The Little Girl Who Held Her Own!

Fern is one of four tiny orphans who came to us at just a few days old, needing bottle feeding around the clock. Luckily, we happened to have Mango, who had recently lost two of her four kittens and was nursing her two surviving babies.

We hoped Mango might be willing to add four more hungry mouths to her already busy buffet.

She didn't hesitate.

Mango went from nursing two babies to nursing six — and Fern and her siblings were welcomed into the family as if they had always belonged there.

Fern is the only girl in the whole bunch, and she has absolutely held her own surrounded by all those brothers! She is sweet and incredibly snuggly, but don't let that fool you — this little girl is confident, silly, playful, and every bit as tough as her brothers.

Fern is currently being fostered with her brother Flint and their mama Mango, while her other siblings are with another foster family. Fern and Flint are buddies and love having a playmate to chase, wrestle, and get into kitten trouble with.

And now this little girl is ready for the next adventure — finding her forever family.

Fern would make an amazing addition to just about any family looking for a playful, affectionate kitten with plenty of personality.

Psst... If your family has room for two, Fern and Flint would make a pretty fantastic pair! We offer discounts on adoption fees when additional cats are adopted together. Two kittens means double the fun, double the snuggles, and usually someone to blame when the house gets mysteriously destroyed.

Fern has spent her whole life surrounded by siblings, love, and a mama who stepped up when she needed one most.

Now it's time for her to find the family she's been waiting for.

Could that family be you?

Fill out an adoption application and come meet this sweet, silly, confident little girl. Fern is ready to find her forever home!

Max Raven Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
The interested party fills out an adoption application off of our website. We check vetting of current or past pets to ensure they have been kept up to date. If renters, we call and check with landlord to be sure pets are allowed and they are aware. If homeowners, we check with county assessor to be sure they do own the home. We check with two references they put on their application. We do a meet and greet while simultaneously doing a home check. The meet and greet is also to introduce other resident pets to the potential adoption pet to ensure there is not out of the ordinary issues or aggression.
