Fawn's Story

ReHome Superstore is the thrift store of Our Pal's Place. One late summer afternoon, the Store Manager was approached by a man with a box of kittens. Supposedly the kittens were found in the shed behind his home and mom cat was not around. As our Store Manager kindly explained that we can not accept animals at our thrift store, he replied "yes you can", put the box of kittens on the counter and quickly sped off. The Store Manager and customers who overheard the exchange ran after him to get his license plate. With no luck, all reentered the store. Upon examination of the box of kittens, our store manager realized that they were in a Chewy box ... with mailing label still intact. Animal Control was contacted to report the abandonment. Meanwhile, pictures were sent to Jane in our veterinarian's office. She estimated them to be around 10 days old as their eyes were just opening. Being this young meant bottle feeding would be required to keep them alive. Between a foster home and the camp counselors of Camp O.P.P., the kittens were fed regularly and our youth summer campers held them for socialization.

Fawn is the last of the litter ready to find her forever home! Fawn currently lives in our Learning Center with resident cat, Murphy, and puppies with whom she loves to play!! Fawn also enjoys human attention and being held.
