Fantine's Story

We here on Earth are so very lucky to get to know Fantine, formerly known as Batman.

She and her sister, Cosette, are survivors of the Panleukopenia Virus. Feline panleukopenia (also called feline distemper) is a highly contagious, potentially (often) fatal disease of cats caused by the feline panleukopenia virus (FPV). Many cats and kittens lose their lives by this virus, but Fantine and her siblings were able to be hospitalized and all survived, thanks to the expert care of many wonderful veterinarians and vet techs. We could not be more thankful. They have been through so much in their short little lives.

Fantine and her sister, Cosette, both came to Purrs and are so much alike. For this reason, you'll find that their bios are identical. They are incredibly affectionate, clingy almost, and massive cuddle bugs! We find that the ones who have been through the most tend to be super loving with big personalities afterwards, so perhaps they know how loved they are and are repaying us in kind? Or maybe they were always gentle little sweethearts and now get to show us why they were meant to be here? Either way, these girls are heartbreakingly darling. They crave attention, touch, and companionship. They hate being lonely, and are happy to spend time with any human, from babies, to teens, to extroverts and the elderly.

Give Purrs a Chance does not require that these sisters be adopted together as they are not truly bonded, but we STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT. They do love each other very much, and will require a kitty companion in their new home, as neither can be single kittens. And after such a struggle, we believe they would flourish best if allowed to stay together.

Both girls are fully cleared of their kittenhood illness, and are now fully vaccinated, chipped, and spayed. They pose no risk whatsoever of passing on panleukopenia to any other cat, as the virus is cleared and they are now vaccinated against if for the future. DOB 7/29/25

Cosette has a neighboring listing for her, with the same information.
