Eywa's Story

Meet Eywa (pronounced Eye-wah), a stunning and gentle soul who is looking for someone to finally say “yes” to her! Much like the Arabic word, aywa /أيوة, which means “yes,” her name fits her perfectly as she settles into foster life with grace. She has already claimed a cozy nap spot on her foster mom’s desk and is proving to be the definition of a “chill” companion. Despite being in a brand-new environment, she has shown zero fear; she didn’t even hiss or swat when the vacuum came out! While she is still a touch shy after her first few days, she is remarkably friendly and very affectionate. She is the perfect match for an adopter who doesn’t mind “stopping to smell the roses,” as she is happiest simply being near you and soaking up every bit of love and attention you can give. She isn’t a super active cat and is often more intrigued by watching you demonstrate how toys work than she is in actually chasing them herself. Her favorite spots to relax include her tea house scratcher and the window sill, but her absolute favorite place to be is right on her foster mom’s desk. While it might look like a hiding spot, she specifically chooses to lounge there only when someone is working or studying, making her the perfect, quiet “office assistant.”

Affection and treats are the direct keys to this sweet girl’s heart. Eywa adores pets everywhere, especially on her cheeks and chin; if you’re lucky, she’ll even roll onto her back for tummy rubs while making the cutest air biscuits! She enthusiastically gobbles up her treats and always offers a grateful cheek rub as a thank-you. Surprisingly, she also enjoys being held like a baby for a few minutes at a time, leaning into the closeness and comfort of her humans.

When it comes to other feline roommates, Eywa is quite polite and tends to stick to herself or hang out with her person. While she doesn’t mind the company of other cats like Moley and Ginny, she isn’t shy about approaching them to “help” finish their treats if she notices they have leftovers! She has a great appetite and excellent litter box skills, though she is quite the dedicated digger. Overall, Eywa is a quiet, precious girl who is simply waiting to find her “purrson” and a peaceful forever home. If you have a peaceful home and a steady supply of squeeze treats, Eywa is ready to be your most loyal, precious companion.
