1: If a cat is listed on our Petfinder, it is still accepting applications. As soon as a cat is adopted, the listing is removed.

2: If you are interested in adopting any of our available cats, you MUST fill out an application, in person, at the Bellingham Petsmart (located at 4379 Guide Meridian St, Bellingham, WA 98226 next to Michael's Craft Store), NO EXCEPTIONS. Please don't email asking to apply. We do not have a digital application. You will be contacted within a few days after your application is received.

3: Whatcom Feline Alliance only adopts our cats to homes within Whatcom County. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please don't email asking if we make exceptions. Thank you.

These kittens are currently in a foster home. When they move down to the Cat Adoption Center, inside Petsmart, this listing will be updated with that info.

Evie & Eugene are bonded siblings who must be adopted together. They had a rough start to life after being found outside at 3-4 months old. They will need a special home with very patient, experienced adopters who can accept them as they are. Because of their past experiences, they are very distrustful of humans and particularly children. They need time to warm up to a new home and may never be cats who want to cuddle or be touched. They require safe, cozy spaces they can retreat to. Both of them do well with other cats, and it would be best if they had friendly cats in the home with them, to help show them that humans are okay.

Evie is a bit more relaxed than her brother, and does allow her foster mom to pet her from time to time. She has eventually tolerated being held for a few minutes at a time. Eugene is still extremely fearful of people and will run to hide under furniture when foster mom is within about three feet. He does not allow pets most of the time, unless he’s sleeping in a confined area (like a hideaway in a cat tree). Both of them LOVE to play with a variety of toys - especially Eugene - and can keep themselves entertained for hours. They adore relaxing on a cat tree in the living area, or cuddling together in a small bed, and will stay visible as long as foster mom is calm, quiet, and doing other things. They enjoy both wet and dry food as well as treats, and are perfect about using the litter box. They will need to be indoor only and have shown zero interest in escaping the house to go back outside.
