Evie's Story

Evie is a VERY sweet and friendly cat. She loves people so much she meows with happiness every time one comes into the room. She loves meeting new people and getting attention. When you give her scratches on her back, she will occasionally make biscuits with her back feet, which will make her rump do a cute little wiggle. Evie is a little slow to warm up to new cats, but with patience and respectful boundaries, she gets along with them. She does not tolerate playful cats and would be better suited to households with independent cats. Evie enjoys watching the birds and other animals in the yard, curling up in laps, and treats. This 2-year-old still has a lot of life to live and we hope she is able to do it with a nice family.

Edit 6/18/25: Evie has discovered that light reflecting from a mirror when her human is tweezing eyebrows is mesmerizing. Her human will make it move across the wall and ceiling for her to watch and also allow her to try and catch it. Laser pointers have become a favorite toy too. Evie enjoys being out on the catio to get fresh air and watch the backyard wildlife. Like before, she will be purfectly content to cuddle and get scritches from her human.

She is fixed, combo and rabies vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. Would you love to have her stay with you furever? If so, please fill out an application here: https://www.appalachianpeacepaws.org/adopt

Appalachian Peace Paws Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adopters fill out a simple digital application that includes a home check, two references, landlord verification, and vet references. A volunteer makes sure the applicant can have animals where they live, that all household members are in agreement, that references feel they are ready for a pet, that they can take financial responsibility for a new pet, and that they have properly cared for pets they've had in the past. Once this is done an in person or virtual home check is done and the successful applicant is asked to make a donation (required amounts vary by species) to help offset our costs and the applicant can arrange to take their new family member home.
