Here I am! The amazing Evander! My name comes from a Greek word for "strong man," and I also share a name with a professional boxer. The volunteers say that this name suits me well because I am a strong and brave cat! I was born in 2010, but spent my first few years living on the streets of Chicago. I was brought to Harmony House by someone who found me living outside and wanted me to have a home of my own. When I came to Harmony House, the staff discovered that I had some problems with my jaw that probably came from a fight with another cat on the street. I had dental surgery to remove some teeth and realign my jaw. I have recovered well and am now ready to find a home of my own. Come visit me in person and see what a great addition I would make to your home!<br/><br/><p>Every HHC cat or kitten is spayed/neutered prior to adoption, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Visit Harmony House and choose from 140+ cats and kittens in our relaxed, cageless atmosphere. Adoption hours are Wednesday and Thursday 2-5 pm, Saturday and Sunday 1-5 pm. To be able to adopt the same day, you must arrive at least one hour before closing, but we recommend that you allow as much time as possible. All household members must be present including roommates and children. Adopters must be 21 years or older, currently employed, and live in a home, condo or apartment where cats are welcome. Please bring the following:<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp; 1. A driver's license, state photo ID, or passport to verify your age<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; 2. A driver's license, state photo ID, or utility bill* to verify your current address<br />&nbsp;&nbsp; 3. A copy of your telephone bill, gas bill, or electric bill to verify your telephone number.<br /><br />* If you pay your bills online, you may print a copy at home to show the adoption counselor. We do not allow visitors internet access on our computers at Harmony House.</p>
