Evalin is an extremely gentle and loving young mama. She loves being petted and being in your company - leans into scratches and pets, purrs, make biscuits, and trills at you to show her approval. She has the sweetest energy and is always so grateful for every bit of attention you offer her. Her markings and coat couldn’t be more stunning, too — shiny, healthy, well-groomed. Everyone who meets her immediately falls in love. The right adopter for Evalin will be patient with her, as she is a little nervous about new, large spaces and is still gaining her confidence. Wherever she came from, toys weren’t part of her world — so she’s still learning what it means to play. Evalin can be adopted to a home with or without other cats. Evalin is spayed, vaccinated, clear of parasites, litter-box trained, microchipped, negative for FIV/FeLV and healthy!

Backyard Cats of Bed-Stuy's Adoption Policy

I ask that everyone interested in adopting a cat from me starts the application process by filling out my adoption application! The more details you can provide, the better. You can find the app here: https://www.backyardcatsofbedstuy.com/adoption-application Once I've received your application, if I'm interested in moving forward I'll reach out to schedule a Zoom call (or sometimes an in-person meeting, where possible). I often have the foster join as well to talk more specifically about each cat's personality and needs. If the meet-and-greet goes well, and if requested, the potential adopter can arrange a time to meet the cat(s) at their foster homes, or they can start out with a trial "foster-to-adopt" period of one month, to make sure it is a good fit for both cats and humans. A cat isn't considered "fully adopted" until they have been through proper vetting (spayed or neutered, given rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested for FeLV and FIV, microchipped, and dewormed and treated for fleas). I love to stay in touch with my adopters and often receive updates about their new pets thriving in their forever homes!
