Ethel's Story

Meet Ethel!

Ethel is one of the charming “E babies” (alongside siblings Evelyn and Earl) and sports a gorgeous brown tabby coat with tiny orange flecks sprinkled throughout—like little surprises you notice more the longer you look.

Ethel is still in the process of learning that people are pretty great. She doesn’t fully enjoy hands-on affection yet, but she’s making steady progress and is noticeably braver than her sister Evelyn. Ethel doesn’t hide as much and is especially comfortable hanging out in the same space as the humans in her foster home.

One of Ethel’s standout qualities is how well she does with the children in the house. While she’s not a cuddle bug (yet!), she enjoys being nearby and observing, taking everything in at her own pace. She’s curious, gentle, and clearly interested in the world around her—she just needs a little time to build confidence.

Ethel would thrive in a patient, calm home that understands shy kittens and celebrates small victories. With consistency, kindness, and room to grow, she’s likely to continue coming out of her shell and showing more of her personality every day.

If you’re looking for a quiet, thoughtful kitten who enjoys companionship without being demanding—and you love watching trust bloom—Ethel could be the perfect fit!

If you are interested in meeting her, please complete the form at this link, and someone will contact you soon: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RCCR/Cat
