Meet Estrella! Estrella came to us as a haggard mama with 3 newborn babies born under a bush and soaked from a recent rainstorm. Normally, we wouldn't have much hope for babies in such a rough situation, but Estrella was a fierce and doting mama who kept them all happy and healthy. She was initially quite intimidating, as she would howl like a banshee any time other cats came near her babies, but she was super gentle and trusting with us humans right from the get-go. Estrella really set the gold standard for mothers in our program.<br/><br/>Now, her babies are weaned and ready to find their forever homes - and so is she!<br/><br/>Estrella is beautiful inside and out. We love her unique dilute markings and big, expressive eyes. Estrella has always been very affectionate towards humans. She was quick to trust us from the get-go, and was very loving while she was in a foster home. She was a bit more timid at the center, but once she explored and sniffed around, she became much more confident. <br/><br/>Estrella isn't a super energetic cat. She likes to explore, but is most interested in human attention. We think she would make a great lap cat and would bond very tightly to her family. She might play more in a home where she doesn't have to compete for toys.<br/><br/>We think Estrella would be fine with gentle children. She can be nervous around other cats at first, so she would need to be in a home with only mellow cats that won't aggravate her and draw out her fierce side. She has not been tested with dogs. <br/><br/>Estrella is estimated to be about 3 years old as of September 2025. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
