Esme's Story

Meet Esme, a quiet, mysterious mama with a heart that's still learning to trust. Esme arrived at the shelter as a stray alongside her daughters, Renesmee and Loca, after having to grow up and then raise her babies outdoors where people weren't always part of her world. Because of that, she's understandably unsure of human attention and tends to keep her guard up, even though the shelter staff have been patiently working to show her that she's safe. While she's still a bit wary of people, Esme is very comfortable around other cats and gets along well with them, often seeming to take comfort in their presence. She would likely do best in a calm home with other friendly cats she can rely on to help her feel secure, and in an adult-only household where things stay quiet and predictable. Esme may take time to come around, but for someone with patience and understanding, helping this shy mama learn what love and safety feel like could be incredibly rewarding. If adoption isn't in the cards right now, you can still make a difference by clicking the donate button below Esme's profile. It would be pawsitively amazing!
