Emmy's Story

Emmy likes toys that she can bat around and carry in her mouth. She also loves dangly toys and will sit up on her little hind legs to swat at them. And she's always up for a good game of tag with her brother, Oscar, which involves a lot of tackling and bouncing but ends up in a black and white sleeping ball.

She and Oscar became orphans when their mother died. A good Samaritan rescued them and brought them to CARE, but they were very scared. Once she gets to know you, you'll see that she has a very endearing little personality. Her brother is more outgoing which helps her with her confidence. They do make quite the handsome couple (and two is really easier than one!).

She has a traditional tuxedo coat with two exceptions. She has a black "heart" on her heart, and the markings around her tail make it look like it was attached with Elmer's glue. Both help make her totally adorable..

Emmy is a sweet, gentle little girl who needs someone willing to be patient and show her how loving people can be. She is also her brothers shadow and follows him everywhere. They love to play and snuggle each other and keep each other entertained quite often. She will also appraoch you and loves head scratches if you lay down and are in her space. She will sleep right next to or on top of you once she gets to know you. Emmy is bonded wiht her brother, Oscar and must be adopted together.

If interested in adopting Emmy and Oscar, please submit an online adoption application and an adoption coordinator will contact you.

CARE-Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is simple but thorough. You select a feline who touches your heart and fill out an adoption application at care-cats.org/application. Filling out the application is the quickest way to start the adoption process and is required of all adoptions. After review and approval by our volunteers, you will be contacted by an adoption consultant to discuss the adoption process. Please allow a few days for this process, as CARE is an all volunteer rescue – each of us is giving our own personal time and we appreciate your patience. You will then be in contact with the foster to discus and meet your chosen cat/kitten. Should you decide to adopt, an adoption contract is then signed with an adoption donation attached (this donation helps defray the medical costs incurred) Each cat/kitten has spent its rescued time in a private home in foster care being loved and assessed for temperament and personality, needs, likes and dislikes. Our adoption counselors and fosters will help you to adopt a feline that will fit well and become a permanent member of your family. See : Available Cats: on our website: care-cats.org for more information. Adoption fees (fees contribute to only a portion of the cost of each cat’s medical and living expenses) Please check with an adoption specialist for adoption fees. Occasionally we offer specials on adoption fees. As Part of the Adoption Fee Your NEW Family Member Has Received: * A Full Health Check up by a Veterinarian * Treated, if needed, for any Problems with Ear/Eyes/Teeth * Treated for Worms, Fleas and Ticks * Tested for FIV and FELV * Treated for any Medical or Surgical Problems as Needed * Given a Series of FRVCP Immunizations (additional booster shots may be required for kittens) * A Rabies Vaccination if over 4 months of age. * A Spay or Neuter (if a kitten is too young, a free spay/neuter clinic appointment is offered to the adopter). * All cats are Microchipped Our goal is to place all rescued felines in a permanent, appropriate, safe and loving home. Please note that CARE reserves the right to deny applications without a stated reason.
