Emma's Story

Emma was about 3.5 months old when she was returned to us after 4 days in her new home for being "too wild," as kittens tend to be. She has grown up here at the shelter, as she is now over a year old! Since she has been with us, our medical team detected a Grade 5 heart murmur, which is considered severe. Despite this, she doesn't let it stop her from living her best life! She's a great hunter with energy to match who will keep you entertained for as long as you let her! Emma is super smart and will need lots of enrichment and stimulation to use up her kitten energy (see video with puzzle feeder). She does well with other cats, but they will likely get a paw to the face at first introduction, as she can be a bit of a brat! Emma will do best in a home without children, as she can get a little “mouthy” when she’s over stimulated. If you need to get her attention, Churu snacks work the best!

Given the severity of her heart murmur, Emma would qualify as a hospice adopt or hospice foster since her condition can be unpredictable, with the possibility of an acute issue occurring. Will you be willing to give Emma a cageless, loving home to live out her premature "golden years?" Come meet our wild child today!
