Emily (made for love)'s Story
Emily — 2 years old The Ultimate Purring Machine

If you're looking for a cat with a huge personality and an even bigger heart, meet Emily.

Emily has a way of making everyone fall in love with her. She isn't clingy, but she always wants to be part of whatever you're doing. Talk to her, and she'll immediately start making biscuits—even if she's standing on the hard floor. She'll answer you with her signature tiny little "ah" meow, as if she's carrying on a conversation, then lean in for head rubs and gentle forehead bumps.

Emily is also an absolute purring machine. Her favorite spot is her window hammock, right at eye level, where she can keep an eye on everything happening outside. Walk over, give her a forehead kiss or a gentle head rub, and the purring starts instantly. Once she trusts you, forehead kisses quickly become one of her favorite things in the world.

When visitors come over, Emily doesn't disappear into another room. She wants to know what's going on and be part of the action. While she probably won't hop into a stranger's lap right away, she's genuinely curious and gets excited whenever something new is happening. That's when her funny, playful personality really shines.

She's a huge fan of interactive play and is absolutely obsessed with string toys. She'll happily chase a wand toy for as long as you're willing to play, but she's also perfectly capable of entertaining herself with her favorite toys. Add a little catnip, and you've officially made her day.

Emily is also a total foodie. The second she hears a can open, she'll come running from wherever she was, convinced dinner is the greatest event of the day. And afterward? She'll thank you by rubbing against your legs with the sweetest grateful little face.

Emily isn't a fan of being carried around, but she'll happily tolerate it when needed. What she really loves is affection on her own terms—head scratches, gentle pets, slow blinks, cozy naps in her window hammock, and simply being near her people. She's incredibly easygoing and gets along with just about anyone who wants to be her friend, feline or human.

Watching Emily today, you'd never guess where she came from.

When we rescued her, she was desperately searching through a trash can for food while suffering from devastating wounds over much of her neck and body. Several veterinarians believed euthanasia was the kindest option. But Emily had other plans.

She accepted every medication, slowly learned to trust again, and fought her way back to health with incredible quiet determination. Today, she's fully healed. A few scars remain, but they don't define her—they're simply reminders of how far she's come.

What defines Emily is her gratitude.

Every meal, every soft blanket, every toy, and every kind word seems like the greatest gift she's ever received. She has discovered toys, loving people, and the comfort of a safe home, and she embraces every bit of it with quiet joy. There's something incredibly special about a cat who never takes love for granted.

Emily is FIV positive, but it doesn't slow her down one bit. FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, completely normal lives. She doesn't need special medication or a special diet—just the same things every cat deserves: love, routine veterinary care, and a family to call her own.

Emily is estimated to be about 2 years old (as of February 2025). She is fully vetted: spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea-free, and tested negative for FeLV and heartworms.

Check out more photos and videos of Emily's incredible journey here:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/VVgSYjmwVvoQeH8E9

Interested in meeting Emily?
Apply here:
http://tinyurl.com/LLARadopt

Questions?
[info@littlelivesatl.org](mailto:info@littlelivesatl.org)

**Facts over Fear Living with FIV**

FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy, normal lives. The virus is not spread through casual contact like sharing food bowls, grooming, or cuddling. FIV-positive and FIV-negative cats can happily live together as long as they get along. Emily isn't looking for a special home—just a loving one.
