AVAILABLE! Updated 12-21-2025 Beautiful Emily! The eyes on this girl! She might look terrified at all times, but she isn't. Emily is misunderstood and we are looking for her person. If you are looking for a perfect combo of super sweet one minute with playful version the next, add in a fun personality, Emily is your girl! She is a beautiful dilute calico. She adores her people, and wishes she was in a home with a person to love her. Emily hasn't made up her mind if she likes other cats or not. We do put her in the playroom alone, but with other cats she hisses if they approach. She isn't mean or aggressive with them, but she doesn't seem to trust them. We think with proper introduction and friendly respectful cats, Emily would adjust. She'd also be great as an only cat. Emily celebrated her first birthday and has been with us since a baby. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. We hope you will give her the chance to become your friend! C.A.R.A (Citizens for Animal Rescue and Adoption)'s Adoption Policy

Please email citizensanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application or use our online link. Once an application is approved you will be contacted to set up an appointment to visit the animals. If you let us know what you have in mind (age, gender, personality), we'll have several ready to meet. We are open to the public Monday-Friday 1-4PM and Saturday/other times by appointment. Please call 217-655-4353 or 217-799-8858 for appointments and questions. After you've met and decided on the pet for you, you will fill out the final paperwork and you will be able to take your pet home. All adopters must be able to meet and pick up their pet as we do not offer transportation. All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

C.A.R.A. is a 501(c)3 non-for-profit, No Kill animal shelter and rescue for homeless, injured/neglected or surrendered animals. Through community donations we are able to provide high quality care and rehabilitation for animals in our care.
