Elvis's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Elvis underwent life-saving amputation surgery and began a long journey of healing. Through every setback and triumph, he’s shown incredible resilience. But while his body has healed, his heart still carries the cautious imprint of his past. Elvis is extremely shy and prefers to coexist quietly with his humans. He’s what we lovingly call a “house feral”, he’s not looking for cuddles or laps, and he’ll run from new people or anyone who tries to pick him up.

That said, Elvis has his own language of trust. Bring out his favorite wand toys or treats, and you’ll see him come alive, zooming, leaping, and playing with joy. He’s fine being in the same room as you, but if you approach him directly, he’ll dart away. Patience is key, and for those willing to go slow, Elvis will reward you with playful antics and quiet companionship.

Elvis absolutely adores other cats. He lights up around feline friends, chatting, chasing, and getting the zoomies with joy. A home with a confident, playful cat would be ideal for him. If you don’t have one, consider adopting one of his furriends to help him feel safe and supported.

Elvis may never be a cat you cradle like a baby, but he’s a soul worth knowing. If you’re a patient, compassionate person who understands that love can be quiet and trust takes time, Elvis might just be the cat who teaches you the beauty of slow magic.

Are you ready to give Elvis the second chance he so deserves? Whiskers & Tails Rescue Foundation's Adoption Policy
Our goal is to find the purrfect forever homes for our cats & kittens, so we match them with their potential families based on personalities, lifestyle, etc. Our Adoption process: Complete an Adoption Application. Once you submit an application, a volunteer will review your application, check your references, and contact you to conduct a phone interview with you about the animal and answer any questions that you may have. If approved, we will then set up a meet and greet with the entire family during open adoption hours to spend time with the cat you’re interested in. (all persons living full-time in the household must be present during the adoption process). If it's a match, we will then set up a date and time for you to take your furrever family member home. **WTRF does not do same day adoptions to allow our adoption counselors time to call your landlord and vet references. **WTRF does not do single kitten adoptions (unless you have a kitten of similar age already in the home, no seniors) nor do we break up bonded pairs. **WTRF only does local adoptions. Adoption Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older Have a valid form of id with current address Provide landlord information and approval and a copy of the executed lease or show proof of ownership Have proof of vaccines & spay/neuter for any other pets in the home Adoption Donation Fee: Adult Cats - 1 year of age and older $200.00 Kittens - $200.00 Specialty Breeds - $250.00 and up Cats who have had extensive medical work done (dentals, etc) - $250.00 and up All of our cats & kittens are spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV/HW tested, vaccinated with all appropriate boosters/vax, parasite treated, flea protected, fecal tested, and microchipped.
