Elvis's Story
Meet handsome Elvis! He is about 8 yrs old and weighs 14 lbs. Elvis showed up at our barn in February of 2020 and never left. We accepted him into our family. But we are now at a point where it is clear that he would be happier in another home. Here is the story ...
We are the founders of our rescue org, Five Freedoms Farm. We have always have multiple dogs and multiple cats of our own. Over the years, we've known that Elvis was not crazy about any new cats or foster cats we took in, and we've been able to manage that. But now it's at a point where Elvis is not happy and our other cats are not happy. The dynamics have changed. It is clear now that Elvis would thrive as an only cat, where he does not have to compete for attention. (We have tried pheromone diffusers and collars, as well as medication but they are not helping.)
We are heartbroken over this and it took months to even come to this decision. We are know that he will have a better life, ultimately, with someone else.
Elvis is an INCREDIBLY affectionate boy! He is a great snuggle buddy. Very talkative, very present, and he LOVES people and kids! He does just fine with dogs as well. Elvis is the kind of cat who wins people over the moment they meet him. His energy fills up a room and people instantly smile when they meet him and pet him. Honestly, he is a very cool cat! He has lived as an inside/outside cat, but mostly indoors.
He requires special food because he had some bladder issues last year. This food costs about $35/month. And he is FIV+ but not showing any symptoms.
We know it's a long shot - finding someone to adopt him - but we have to try. We hate seeing him unhappy here. He just doesn't do well in a multicat household.
Elvis is fully vetted.
If you would like to consider adopting Elvis, please email us! fivefreedomsfarm@gmail.com
His adoption fee has been waived.
