Elsie's Story

Meet Little Elsie 💕

When Elsie was first found roaming around a junkyard, she was so matted that folks honestly thought she might be a very large raccoon. (Plot twist: 100% cat.) Under all those mats, dirt and grime was a much smaller girl with a very big heart.

After a spa day that involved hours of careful shaving by the world’s most patient vet techs, Elsie revealed her true self—and she’s been on a glow-up journey ever since. She’s fully vetted, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and has been enjoying the good life in foster care for the past couple of months.

Elsie is now working on growing back her long and luscious coat and has regained a healthy appetite, and is showing off her wonderfully calm, serene personality. She’s not one for being carried around like a baby, but she loves sleeping in bed beside her person, pressed close like a warm little loaf. She’s quiet, gentle, and deeply appreciative of soft blankets, full bowls, and a safe place to land.

Elsie would thrive in a peaceful home where she can be a loyal, low-key companion—someone to share naps, nights, and quiet moments with. She has a way of making you feel chosen.

If you’re looking for a sweet, steady soul who is very happy to be home again, Elsie may be your girl. Please consider opening your heart (and your bed space) to this lovely lady. 🐾💗

If you're interested in learning more about Elsie, reach out to us at adoptions@citycritters.org.
