Eloise's Story

***Eloise (she answers to Ellie) is a shy but sweet cat who will definitely need other friendly, relaxed cats in her world in order to navigate her new home with confidence and security.

Eloise is a smart mamacat who found the backyard of a home where the people were kind to her and her three sweet kittens. They were rescued from the cold and provided warmth in a foster home just as the harsh winter began and temperatures dropped. Mama Eloise is doing well in foster care and is looking forward to finding her forever family in the new year.

Eloise is a shy, short-haired young cat with beautiful green eyes and sleek smooth fur of a unique marbled colours of beige, brown and dark chocolate. While still timid, she is beginning to enjoy the company of her humans, and learning to enjoy the comforts of a warm home.

Eloise cautiously accepts Churu treats once she feels safe, and has started to play with wand toys out in the open space without too much fear, as she works toward feeling more at ease in her indoor surroundings. She is challenging her comfort level further with laser play and is beginning to follow her foster mom around as she explores her indoor space. When it’s meal time, Ellie finds her voice to proclaim her empty, waiting tummy and to hurry along the process!

Eloise is tolerant and accepting of the other resident adult female cat at her foster home and does not appear to be uncomfortable with the other cat’s presence. She also showed good potential for accepting a dog as part of her family, when she watched a recent visit of a medium-sized pup from a safe distance. With slow and proper introductions, Eloise will do quite nicely with friendly, laidback cats, and maybe even dogs!

Although Eloise may hide when new people come around, she is becoming more social every day with her foster family. Eloise will sometimes give a low growl if she feels unsure and may swat if she feels threatened; however, her hello hisses are getting fewer as she settles more.

Now that most of her kittens have found great homes, Eloise is looking forward to a family who will give her the needed time and space to fully come into her own. She is a shy flower ready to bloom with the sunshine of love and dewdrops of Churu to nourish. With a nice cat friend to help ground her, Eloise will soon be an indispensable part of your family.

Would you like to make Eloise a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
