Elmer's Story

Elmer | The Little Cow Cat with a Big Heart

APPLY HERE: https://linktr.ee/savinglivy

Say hello to Elmer — our adorable little “cow cat” who has already lived a whole lifetime of resilience.

Elmer was found living at a Deltona convenience store and was trapped for TNR. What was supposed to be a simple neuter appointment quickly turned into something more when the clinic discovered he was too sick for surgery. Instead of sending him back out, he received the medical care he needed — antibiotics, antivirals, and time to heal — and it became clear this sweet boy was far too loving to ever return to life on the streets.

Because his sneezing was likely caused by a virus picked up while unvaccinated outdoors, Elmer may always be a little “snuffler” and occasionally sneeze off and on throughout his life. But don't let that worry you — he's doing great and feeling wonderful.

Elmer is a big, handsome, very loving boy. During recovery, he spent a full two months as the only baby in a bedroom to protect the other cats from upper respiratory spread. He soaked up every second of that attention — and honestly? We think he loved being the star of the show.

Now he's learning how to share space again and be a good kitty friend. He enjoys wrestling, playing with toys, chasing, and being chased. He will absolutely need a kitty companion in his new home — his best friend Sam would love to be adopted with him. He may need a little time to adjust to his new family, but once he settles in, he is going to be an incredibly loving member of the household.

→ 9 months old

→ Male

→ Black & white

→ Loving, playful & social

→ Occasional “snuffler” from past URI

→ Needs a kitty friend (bestie Sam would love to join!)

→ Fully vetted

Elmer was given a second chance the day he was pulled from that convenience store. Now he just needs the final piece — a warm, safe furever home where he'll never be overlooked again.
