Elly Belly

Elly Belly is a wonderfully odd girl who dances to her own beat. She is about 3 years old and was transferred to us as a stray from our partner shelter on the island. At first, Elly Belly was scared and a little spicy, but that tough exterior was just her way of feeling brave in a new, unfamiliar world. With time and kindness from our volunteers, she is beginning to trust people and learn that hands can be gentle and hearts can be trusted. While her spicy side has softened, she will always carry that signature tortoiseshell sass that makes her special!<br/><br/>Elly Belly is a cautious observer who prefers to watch you from a safe distance, usually perched up high on a shelf. She is an independent lady who gives affection on her terms. She will want attention one moment and then quickly give you the ‘thanks, but no thanks’ look. When she’s in the mood, Elly Belly accepts gentle, brief pets. She will need a calm, patient home with cat-savvy adopters who can appreciate her unpredictable nature and unique purrsonailty. Elly Belly gets along with her shelter mates and would benefit from having a confident, friendly feline friend to help her settle in and feel at home.
