Ellie is a sweet little torti, who was rescued at 3am, near the Fischer Housing Project, in a very high crime area of town. Animal Services Director, Johnna Harris, saw the four week old dart across the street and into a drain. The police showed up on the scene and guarded rescuers and called out the LA-SPCA; workers lifted the top of the drain and scooped her up. After a few months in HSL custody, Ellie is available at the groups Happy Tails Adoption Center, at 4021 Jefferson Hwy. Hours are Wed through Sun, 10am to 4pm or by appointment.
