Elfie bonded with Hopper's Story

Meet Elfie! This adorable kitten came in with her brother, and they are nearly identical-- the only difference being Elfie's charming little floppy ear! Both are sweet and loving, and now they are ready to find their forever home. Elfie is full of energy and loves to play with her brother, as well as snuggle with people.
These 2 will need to be adopted as a pair. However, it's essential to note that Elfie's brother, Hopper, has tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), a virus transmitted from cat to cat. This disease compromises a cat's immune system, but much remains unknown about the virus. For example, it's unclear how Hopper contracted it, especially since Elfie tested negative even after being in close contact with him.
With this in mind, we would prefer that these two go to a home without other cats or other FeLV-positive cats, as we want to avoid the possibility of Elfie becoming a carrier. If you're looking for a delightful duo to brighten your home, Elfie and her brother are the perfect match! 🐾✨
✨ Thinking about adopting? ✨
You're welcome to stop by during our open hours to meet the cats and kittens! You can also fill out an application online, and we'll be happy to set up an appointment time for you.
🐾 All cats and kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be kept as indoor-only pets and may not be declawed.
🐾 Every cat is spayed/neutered, FeLV tested, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption.
