Eleanor's Story
At ten years old, Eleanor has seen a lot of life, but her most important chapter—her true forever retirement—is finally ready to begin. This grey and white sweetheart was found as a stray surviving on the streets, and despite navigating some recent health issues, she remains the ultimate resilient “purring machine.” While she has been through a lot, including treatments for skin and gastrointestinal issues, Eleanor’s spirit hasn’t wavered; she is more addicted to pets and the comfort of a warm lap than ever before.

Eleanor is a true lady of habit who settles into her favorite routines with ease, whether she’s claiming her spot on a recliner or demanding her favorite head scratches. She has a very unique and endearing habit of “guarding” her humans by lying on their chest before bed and again the moment they wake up—though this important work means she’s understandably quite sleepy by mid-morning! While her long fur is growing back in beautifully and feeling softer every day, she still has some sensitive spots, so she prefers to be the one “in charge” of interactions and appreciates a gentle, predictable environment.

Because Eleanor can occasionally startle with sudden movements, she is looking for a patient and understanding home that respects her journey and her need for a calm atmosphere. She might still turn her nose up at some wet foods, but her appetite is improving, and her heart is completely open. For an adopter who is willing to be gentle and patient, Eleanor will reward them with the most incredible cuddles and a comforting, regal presence that makes every day feel special.
