Elara was originally adopted from the Humane Society as a kitten, but sadly found herself abandoned when her owner moved out and left her behind with roommates who were unable to care for her. Elara was in a home with other cats, and while she coexisted with the other felines, she became very stressed when a new younger kitten was brought into the home, making it clear that she prefers a more peaceful, predictable environment. Naturally shy, Elara needs time to warm up to new people and situations, but once she feels safe and secure, she blossoms into a very sweet and affectionate kitty who truly craves human attention and companionship. She would thrive in a calm, quiet environment where she can adjust at her own pace.
